Theresa Marie Schindler Shiavo - R.I.P.
Written on 10:17 AM by Jack B.
There really is nothing that can be said. My thoughts and prayers are with the Schindlers, Terri's friends, those who fought for her and even Michael Shiavo, his ghoulish lawyer George Felos, Judge Greer, and everyone who watched and let this happen. This was not a death "with dignity" as some will now claim, this was a 13- day long state-ordered murder. America, I don't think, will be the same after this.
Her suffering is over but for the rest of us in a nation that let this happen to her I think it has just begun.
The media and the politicos may think this story is over but much like the outcome of the last election I have a funny feeling they will be proven to be drastically wrong. As Nat Hentoff said, Terri had the longest public execution in American history (for commiting no crime other than being "damaged"), and millions of people aren't going to soon forget.
I can only say I'm sorry Terri. Forgive us...and (now that you've entered the Kingdom) pray for me. Pray for all of us.
Thank you for telling me about the other Teresa. I have added her story to the post, both at Blogspot and at the Media Center. Also a beautiful icon of her.
I am not a Catholic, but I knew about the others from Western European history and from news of current events.
This is what I love about the interactive nature of the blogosphere. I did the best I could, and you came along and made it better.
Thank you so much!
