Haiku #35

Written on 11:37 PM by Jack B.

There once was a man
Who lived down by the river
And he sang the blues

They called him Rollo
Because he was big and round
And made a large sound

Rollo was well known
Far and wide they said his name
Spread word of his fame

People praised him, said:
"You're the best there ever was
Sing for us, please sing"

He poured himself out
Like Christ upon his cross, with
Soulful melodies

No one really knew
The sorrow within his heart
Except his guitar

They buried him by
The river, it by his side
Keeping its secrets

Now a memory
Faded from history...but
There once was a man
